Oh My Lord. Atheist Billboards. Bad News for Devil Worshippers

Get back ye devil!! (But only if you believe)

Debate still rages on over having the choice of religion or not to have religion at all, especially when children are involved. Those in favour of atheism have taken to using large billboard advertisements to spread the message. Here are samples I’ve found from the United States and United Kingdom. The organisations involved here are:

While your pondering about changing your religion (if you want a religion that is), then check out the Jedi faith:

Sony Playstation PSP for Giants

Spotted in New York City, this giant Sony Playstation PSP mounted on a billboard.

This giant PSP was in fact an electronic video screen, faithfully advertising the PSP day after day

until…

Oh dear me… A system error has occurred. And in public.

Have you ever had a dry dream?

Carlton Dry Dream Beer Billboard

This billboard was recently spotted in Perth, Western Australia for Carlton Dry beer.

Whilst the billboard itself seems a little odd with some guy shooting an object with a tank, it’s all of a part of the wider promotion by Carlton that includes several television commercials of guys dreaming up crazy things to do, such as:

  • Rubber chicken jet car racing
  • Battle tank skeet shooting
  • Elephant show jumping

Those crazy enough are encouraged to submit their ideas to the carltondrydreams.com website. Checkout the videos as well.

I wanna put an outboard motor on an Antarctic iceberg and drive it to Australia. Yup.. I can see it now… the crowd cheering me on as pull that huge mother into Fremantle Harbour….Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Good Old Fashioned Banking Returns to Albuquerque

This billboard for the Bank of Albuquerque was spotted in Albuquerque, New Mexico USA in April 2009.

As pointed out by the photographer… Bank of Albuquerque is doing a complete turn around in banking services… opposite to what most other banks are doing by promoting itself to older clients who prefer to speak to a “live banker” rather than doing business online or with some automated phone system. Even the old style phone gives the impression the “good ol’ days” are back.

With the trend towards streamlined electronic services and a reduction in personalized service, Bank of Albuquerque is making a clear distinction between itself and its competitors.

Tonkins Gets Cupid Busy Selling Cars

This billboard was spotted in Portland, Oregon USA.

The billboard belongs to used car dealer, Ron Tonkin Automotive who appears to be very passionate about his cars. Ron has replaced Cupids arrows with ignition keys, which lead to the catch phrase: “The car you love is just a click away“. Unfortunately, tonkin.com website seems to be down at the moment, so it’s a very lonely life.

Southern Comfort gets panties removed fast

A classic billboard from drinks maker Southern Comfort.

I guess in the age of equal opportunity it works both ways hehehe.

Welcome back to Zimbabwe billboard

welcome back to zimbabwe billboard

This billboard was spotted near the South Africa Zimbabwe border near Musina (I guess this is on the South African side for obvious reasons). Those Zimbabwe citizens who where returning home were greeted with this sign and reminded to vote for freedom in upcoming elections. Or is it those leaving Zimbabwe were greeted with this sign?

Zimbabwe has unfortunately been ruined by political turmoil, human rights abuses and hyper-inflation.

Check out these Zimbabwe links:

Diamond ring bollboard for Robbins Diamonds

RobbinsDiamonds had the audacity to put up this billboards for diamond rings and jewellery spotted in Philadelphia USA. This girl definitely has attitude..but that RobbinsDiamonds mascot saying “Yeah!” looks a bit dubious to say the least. Sort of like the nightclub owner image I thought …with the beard…. and what?

Is that a diamond stuck in his beard I see???

The image itself is of owner Jerry Robbins who has been in the jewellery business even since Adam was a boy and seems Jerry excels at self  promotion. Radio, TV and newspapers and even wearing a diamond in that thick beard of his has been a trademark. And of course billboards.

Jollibee spice burgers billboard Philippines

This Jollibee billboard was spotted in Carmen (North of Manila), the Philippines.

Jollibee is a Philippines based fast food chain of stores serving western style fast food, but also has a variety of Filipino food as well.

Incredibly, this local fast food company is taking on the fast food giants and continues to expand inside and outside of the Philippines, with over 600 stores in the Philippines and over 50 stores overseas.

The Jollibee corporation also operates (owns or franchises) other fast fast stores, namely: Chowking, Greenwich Pizza, Red Ribbon Bakeshop, Delifrance and Manong Pepes.

HP Touchsmart TX2 Notebook billboard Malaysia

This HP notebook billboard was spotted in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia featuring the HP Touchsmart TX2 notebook computer. Notice the words “Alami dunia sentuhan!” which translates from Malay into “Natural world touch”.

Interestingly this billboard only features English and Malay languages. Have they forgotten about the other significant ethnic Malaysian races of the Chinese and Indian people? Malaysia Boleh!
